실행에서 'tracert 12.129.133.92 > C:\tracert.txt'
Hello,
Lag caused by client side is not necessarily something that can be fixed on
Blizzards end. If the lag is caused by another program or a piece of hardware
then the their may be nothing Blizzard could ever do to fix the issue. Much
like using a video card that will not support World of Warcraft, using a
network card that has driver issues may cause undo lag. There are at least
three chipsets that this can happen on. There are also issue that can come into
play from routers and modems, lag can be formed when playing from a network
that limits or sniffs packets that are transferred across our port and even by
servers that the data must pass through on its way to and from the client and
our server.
This is of course all a discussion of lag caused by network issues. There is
also graphical lag which can be remedied by drivers or turning down graphical
settings, or just plain old system lag if a system is being taxed beyond what
it can reasonably be expected to do.
I can help you if any of these are playing a part but I would need to get a
better idea of what the cause is. We can start by running a traceroute to get
an idea of what kind of connection you have.
Running a trace route can identify where the connection problems are occurring.
The trace route program tests the connection from your computer to the target
location you specify and every "hop" in between. Using this program you can
determine at what location the data you are sending is running into a problem.
Steps to run the Trace Route command:
1) Click Start and then Run
2) Type command and press Enter
3) In the command window, type 'tracert 12.129.133.92 > C:\tracert.txt'
(without the quotes) and press the Enter key.
A file will be created on your C: drive called tracert.txt that contains your
trace route information. Please be patient when waiting for the tracert command
to complete, it may take several minutes. When you are returned to the command
prompt, then the trace is complete. Please attach your tracert.txt to your
reply for further analysis.
If you would like to analyze the results yourself, try our step-by-step
explanation of the output produced by the tracert command below.
4) Type exit and press the Enter key to close the command window.
For Mac OS X:
1)Go to the /Applications/Utilities folder and start the Terminal application.
2)Type traceroute 12.129.232.0> ~/Desktop/tracert.txt and press the Return key.
A file will be created on your Desktop called tracert.txt that contains your
trace route information.
3)Quit the Terminal application.
-----
I ran Trace Route, now what do I do?
Open the tracert.txt file. You will see 3 kinds of information regarding the
route that internet traffic is taking from your computer to the realm you chose:
1) The number on the far left is the hop number.
2) The next 3 numbers (with 'ms' after each one) is the length of time, in
milliseconds, it takes for your computer to receive a response from the
computer you are trying to contact. A high value, for example greater than 200
ms for broadband or 350 ms for dial-up indicates that traffic is slow, and can
cause latency or 'laggy' play.
Asterisks (*) indicate that your computer did not receive a response from the
computer you are trying to contact at all, which can keep you from connecting
to our servers all together, or cause you to be disconnected abruptly.
3) The final piece of information is the DNS (or 'name') and/or the IP number
of server you are trying to contact on this hop. If you did not receive any
responses from this server, you may receive an error message such as 'Request
Timed Out' or 'Destination Net Unreachable'.
**IMPORTANT**
Since our World of Warcraft servers are protected from unsolicited traffic and
attacks, all the hops after you have reached our server may give you an error
message such as 'Request Timed Out' or 'Destination Net Unreachable'. Our
current server names begin with various mixes of numbers and letters, and end
in the following addresses:
att.net (example: tbr1-cl1.n54ny.ip.att.net)
All error messages you may receive after contacting our server can be safely
ignored for troubleshooting purposes, and they do NOT indicate a problem with
your internet connection.
If you see any error messages or asterisks in your trace route for the hops
before you reach our servers, you may need to contact your Internet Service
Provider (ISP) and provide them your trace route information for further
troubleshooting. Once the information has been submitted, it may take several
days for the problem to be identified and resolved. Remember that Blizzard
Entertainment can only ask your ISP to fix an issue; the best results come when
you contact your ISP directly.

Subject: Thx, hm... It is a main question.
Hello?
First of all, I love blizzard. I love all of Blizzard's product.
All right, I see. Blizzard tries to solve SEVER LAG. I believe that blizzard
will solve Lags.
You said a client side LAG. But I think that is not only a customer's problem
but also a WoW program design's fault.
Every information must go to sever, right?
For example, when I don't fight, I maintain 50 FPS. (I use 6600gt)
But, when I fight, my FPS is 20-30(if it is war, FPS will go down 0-10).
It will be same if I have ultra high-end computer.(learn by hearsay -
6800Ultra...)
Program's load factor is amazing huge... right?
People said that(anxiety T.T) we never fight 40 VS 40, even sever war and will
fight in battle field 60 VS 60 that is LAG war. So, we need detail explanation
of lag.
I think that Blizzard's convention is a optimization of program.
But, WoW is so heavy program, even though WoW is mmorpg, WoW's motto is
war(many people fight!).
When I go to iron forge (front of bank) FPS is go down 15... It is a pity.
I just look at many people, my frame go down... why? My computer is not good?
--;; And when I use my wide area spell(I'm mage), Frame go down 20 momentary.
You know that if many people fight (about 80 - it is a war), NO ONE maintains
his FPS(even he has a ultra computer).
Main question is that, blizzard makes every effort for optimization of WoW?
I wait for good reply and detail explanation of optimization of WoW.
(We need a level of U.S forum GM's reply at the minimum. If you answer many
thing, It will be our gratification.)
Thx, yesterday(2.9) is the lunar New Year's day, a holiday for us Koreans.
GOD blesses Blizzard.

>There are many potential causes for lag in game. Some of this is server
side and these issues we are looking into. There could also be issues along the
route that neither we nor the customer can do much about other then contacting
an ISP and trying to get them to rectify the situation. Lastly there are issues
that are client side that can be addressed by the client.
These are often either Video or Network related.
