So Myers' friend gets the hiccups and Myers, being stupid on booze and sports, thinks he can cure the hiccups by pointing a gun at the dude's head and squeezing off a dummy round. Well it would've scared him for sure, not certain it would've actually cured the hiccups. Anyway it's a moot point cause the pistol, unbeknownst to Myers, was loaded with real bullets.
