The mission for those who know it is to find and escort the general who got attacked on a bridge. Land and setup my troops moving forward using battle scanner to find the first group of thin men and use my rookie to move forward and fire a grenade in the middle, as they try to run 2 of them get mowed down by overwatch fire ... nice start ... but then the remaining thin man poisons my 1 rookie that had moved forward ... no big deal I'm thinking, I'll lose 2hp/11hp so not a big hit ..... WRONG ...
he panics and shoots my support ... who panics and shoots 1 of my snipers ... who panics and shoots my heavy , rest panic and either hunker down or move around (I get no chance to move any units that turn; I do think 1 of my guys did get the original thin man that started this in the panic but forget who and how) , Next turn the rookie again panicking shoots again and crit injures my sniper with battlescanner, and from there again the entire team panics killing also my heavy (or support .. honestly at this point I'm not paying too close attention over the swearing I'm doing at the game ... ) .. also one of the panicking units moving around triggers another group of thin men who join the fun next turn ...
When I finally got control of my troops again 3 turns after the initial panic the situation looked like this .. my 1 sniper down to 3hp and my rookie down to 1hp both nice and forward and surrounded by 1 group of thinmen with another group triggered as I tried to retreat the rookie back towards the skyranger ... needless to say I didn't make it and that pretty much means a restart on my ironman impossible try ... thanks Panic!
