어떻게 하면 갈 수 있냐고 질문햇더니
Hello!
Thank you for your interest and question regarding Harvard College admissions and the application process, as well as more about Harvard College.
We encourage you to review our Web site at www.admissions.college.harvard.edu for all the details and information about admissions processes and requirements, as well as our campus and academic life, classes, faculty, research, and student activities. We have gone green University-wide, and so we are, unfortunately, no longer able to send any materials in the mail and do not have a mailing list.
Please note: Applications for entry in Fall 2012 have now closed. We are no longer accepting applications for Fall 2012.
For the next admissions cycle for students interested in entering as freshmen in Fall 2013 -- details on our application process and the requirements are all on-line, at our Web site at www.admissions.college.harvard.edu under "Applying," on the left hand side. The application (for current high school seniors, students in their final year of secondary school, or the equivalent) for students interested in enrolling as Freshmen in Fall 2013, will be available on our Web site on or around August 1, 2012.
We will have a non-biding, single choice Early Action deadline of November 1, 2012 and a Regular Decision deadline of January 1, 2013. Students are encouraged to apply for whichever deadline is the best fit for them.
All students from around the world and from all types of secondary-school backgrounds complete the same application and requirements, and we highly encourage and appreciate diverse experiences and backgrounds.
There are also a number of articles, videos, and student blogs/e-mails as well as information about academic and student life as well as visiting the Harvard College campus, tours, and information sessions on our site under both "About Harvard" and "Visit Harvard."
For admissions preparation, we do not use a formula or require one set of experiences. And while we can not give advice in particular situations or offer specific advising, our general advice is as follows:
There is no single academic path we expect all students to follow, but the strongest applicants take the most rigorous secondary school curricula available to them, in the context of their school environment. An ideal four-year preparatory program includes four years of English, with extensive practice in writing; four years of math; four years of science: biology, chemistry, physics, and an advanced course in one of these subjects; three years of history, including American and European history; and four years of one foreign language.
There is no formula for gaining admission to Harvard College. Academic accomplishment in high school is important, but the Admissions Committee also considers many other criteria, such as community involvement and leadership, as well as commitment and distinction in extracurricular activities. We also rely on counselors, headmasters, and teachers to share information with us about applicants' strength of character, their ability to overcome adversity, and other personal qualities--all of which play a part in the Admissions Committee's decisions. The Committee develops a feel for the applicant through his/her essays and short answers to questions on the application and application supplement.
For more information about our need-blind financial aid program, including the Harvard Financial Aid Initiative, please visit www.fao.fas.harvard.edu . We highly encourage all students to apply for financial aid, and this does not impact their admissions decision, in any way. We meet the full financial need of all admitted students, from around the world and from all backgrounds.
