Thank you for contacting us, ! The Korean government has applied set amount of time to play video games by law. "SSN" stands for Social Security Number, only the Korean Government is asking for this information.
Because you are a U.S. Citizen without a Korean SSN you will not be able to login. This is something we are unable to override as this is Korean Government Law. However, you may play within a different region such as U.S. EU, etc. If you do this however, you will not be able to play with friends in Korea.
In other words, players in one region of the world will not be able to play on alternate regions at this time. This is something that we will continue to investigate as a possibility for the future, however, if you have purchased a version of StarCraft II from outside of your home region we recommend that you return it and purchase the localized version instead.

I got question regarding Starcraft II Gateway. I been playing Starcraft 2 for months, and enjoying it a lot in NA server. I am Korean who now immigrated to Canada, and thus do not have SNN in Korea. I was wandering do you plan on opening gateway between NA and KR server eventually? I would like to play in Korean server sometime, but since I dont have SNN for Korean server, I cant play whether I purchase Korean version of SC2 or not. Thus, only way is for blizzard to start opening gateway. Some of Koreans believe that you will never open gateway from Korea to NA or NA to Korea by showing the case of WoW. So Are you guys planning on opening Gateway or not? Thank you.
